My team and I take an objective, conservative approach to treating TMJ and facial pain.

Unlike practitioners who use a cookbook and rushed approach for every patient, I want you to have an individualized treatment plan that has the strongest likelihood of success.

In order to do this, I will first listen to your concerns (imagine that!) and do a thorough workup before prescribing any treatment options.

When meeting with me and my team, you'll never feel rushed and the first question you'll be asked won't be "Do you have your insurance card?"  Instead you'll be greeted with a handshake and a smile by a compassionate team, because that's just the right thing to do!

Through my engineering background, dental training, lecturing, and successfully treating hundreds of TMD patients for nearly 20 years, I have the experience to both recognize why you are feeling uncomfortable and also how to stage treatment to help you quickly feel relief.

With the information gained from our conversation and diagnostics, I will first determine the root cause of your pain or dysfunction and use that information to tailor treatments to specifically address those areas...even if it means seeing another specialist first...or even not being treated by me at all!  I'll make sure you understand what's going on, every step of the way.

You have to admit, that's not how a typical healthcare experience usually goes.  But, you aren't typical...nor am I.

About Dr. Ryan Tamburrino

Listening is the key.

How Does Dr. Tamburrino Treat TMJ/TMD?

Treating TMD starts with a conversation, not with a device, pill, shot, or gadget.

Because "TMJ / TMD" is a catch-all term for facial pain and discomfort, there should never be a one size fits all treatment.

Successful TMD treatment planning involves:

  • The doctor's full attention

  • Having a conversation with you

  • Asking pertinent questions

  • Doing a thorough examination

Yes, that really is the key - spending time talking with patients - something that the Jaw Therapy Center at TFO prides itself on.

Only after Dr. Tamburrino figures out the correct source of your problem can he provide you with customized treatment options to help you feel better quickly!

Unlike many medical experiences people have today, treating TMD patients can't be done with a cookbook approach after a cursory 2 minute visit while someone is typing on a computer.

You will NEVER feel rushed with Dr. Tamburrino and his team!

Take it from an engineer.

How Does Dr. Tamburrino Treat TMJ/TMD?

The chewing system is complex.

There are 32 teeth, 2 jaws, 2 joints, dozen of muscles, and miles of nerves that all have to work together every day.   Understanding how all this anatomy interacts is a critical step to making sure a patient is receiving the right treatment with the right doctor.

The Jaw Therapy Center at TFO is rooted in Dr. Tamburrino's dual engineering training he received at Duke University.   By combining the knowledge he received from biomedical and mechanical engineering training along with his dental school education, he is the best suited to understand the nuances of the function of the jaw and the chewing system.

Dr. Tamburrino's unique engineering and dental training has led him to specialize in providing objective, conservative relief for hundreds of patients not only in Chester County, but also for those in the greater Philadelphia area and Northeast region who seek out his services.

Treating TMJ issues is a challenging puzzle, but Dr. Tamburrino and his team are equipped with the knowledge, technology, and expertise to help you get comfortable quickly!
