You are not alone.

More than 60% of the U.S. population suffers from some facial pain, neck discomfort, or persistent headaches.

Often all of these symptoms become lumped under the term "TMJ".

"TMJ" is short for temporomandibular joint (your jaw joint) and every person has two of them (just like you have two shoulder or hip joints).

TMD, or temporomandibular disorder, is the actual term to describe issues or pain with the chewing system.

What are symptoms of TMD?

  • Clicking, popping, or grinding sounds in your jaw when chewing

  • Tired, sore feeling in the muscles of the face

  • Frequent headaches or migraines

  • Locking jaw

  • Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

  • Pain around the jaw joint

Maybe this is new and you're worried.

It started when you took a bite of that sandwich with the crusty bread.

You heard a crack followed by soreness on the side of your face.    Over the next few days your jaw kept getting tighter and tighter...

Or, you woke up one morning to a dull headache.

Your spouse told you that you were snoring and audibly grinding your teeth the previous night.   You thought nothing of it and just took some medicine.   Until it happened again.   And again.  And again....

Or, it seems like your ears are underwater when people are talking to you.

You've visited countless physicians and hearing specialists who keep telling you nothing is wrong...

Or, your bite feels off and your chin seems farther back in the family picture.

You knew your jaw always had an annoying click ever since you got into a car accident 10 years ago, but never really thought much of your chin until your brother said something to you...

Do any of these scenarios sound familiar?

These are stories Dr. Tamburrino and his team hear week after week from patients who are curious about what could be going on, and are frustrated that their dentist, physician, or internet research hasn't been able to provide any good answers.

Not knowing what is going on can be scary and leave you worried, but The Jaw Therapy Center at TFO can help!

Maybe you've tried it all and are frustrated.

...because nothing has really worked.

The pill, device, or gadget is just that - a pill, device, or gadget.

The device is only plastic.  The pills are only chemicals.

If not correctly prescribed to fix the problem they were designed to fix, of course they will not work!

You wouldn't put water in your car's gas tank and expect your vehicle to run.   Just because they are both liquids doesn't mean they can be interchanged.

The same logic goes for treating TMD.

Both doctors and patients alike are guilty of jumping to THERAPY without first understanding the DIAGNOSIS.

The unfortunate outcome of this cycle is that the patient gets no relief and continues to suffer.

When a correct diagnosis is made (the true secret sauce of how to treat TMD), the treatment, along with your relief, is now just the by-product and can be predictable!

Digging deep to ensure a correct diagnosis is what the Jaw Center at TFO and Dr. Tamburrino pride themselves on.

It's time for you to stop the experimentation cycle and get real answers.
